What is temperature?

Temperature is a measure of hotness or coldness of a physical object with reference to some standard value. Similar to pressure or density, it is an intensive property. Meaning that it does not change as the amount of matter changes.

Input

Degree Fahrenheit originally based its 0° value as the freezing temperature of a solution made from a mixture of water, ice, and ammonium chloride. But today, it's defined by two fixed points, the freezing point (32°) and the boiling point (212°) of water.

Output

Kelvin is the base unit of temperature in the International System of Units (SI). Its 0 value is the absolute zero of the thermodynamic temperature scale, a state at which the fundamental particles of nature have minimum vibrational motion.
